For Vern Eide’s 2019 campaign, we really wanted to bring it home. And what do you think of when it comes to home? Family, closeness, protection, safety, love; little moments that don’t feel like much, but end up meaning everything. When we look back on our lives, it’s typically the mundane, everyday memories that we cherish, not the flashy events we expect them to be.
That’s what we focused on with the “Buy a car, inherit a family” campaign. Buying a car is a big deal. Not because of it’s trim level or special features, but because it drives those special moments throughout your life. Think about that first road trip with your significant other, driving your kids to their sports events, or bringing home that freshly-cut Christmas tree.
That’s life. That’s love. That’s family. That’s Vern Eide.
They don’t just want to sell you a car. They want to help you create memories with your loved ones. To help create these “warm fuzzies”, we chose some playful, hand-drawn creative. Something about illustration really makes us pause and take notice; you appreciate the time and energy that went into it. You savor it a little more. Maybe it brings you back to a time when, yes, things took a little more time. But the effects stuck with you longer. It became a memory because there was an emotion attached to it. And that’s what we were striving for with this campaign, emotion.
