Old Dogs Learn New Tricks-Part 2

With every year that passes I come to realize this old dog has to work harder each year to keep up with technology and how rapidly it changes in our work place.  In doing some research I found out that my generation, the baby boomers, makes up 20% of the American population.  Because we are such a large part of the population researchers and marketing companies are starting to take notice and are creating and marketing products specifically designed for the baby boomer generation.  Here are some of the interesting headlines that intrigued me that I like to call the “Baby Boomers’ Guide to Keeping Up with Technology.”

Baby Boomers Have The Highest Rate Of Entrepreneurial Activity

Over the past decade, the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity belongs to the Baby boom generation, 55-to-64 age group, according to a study by the Kauffman Foundation, a Kansas City, Mo.-based entrepreneurship institute. The 20-to-34 age bracket has the lowest rate. Kauffman’s latest study shows that about 23 percent of new entrepreneurs in 2010 were in the 55-to-64 age group, compared with 15 percent in 1996.

Smartphone For Older People Offers Simplified Software

One manufacturer, Doro, has designed a smart phone for the boomer generation.  The Antroid devices are tailored for the older generation with well-spaced, large and clear application icons.

Wow, I just realized in dog years I am 357 years old.  I think I will go lay by a water dish and take a nap.  Wake me up when it is time to go for a walk.
